The January Ecological Reserve is home to the world-famous gigantic saucer-shaped Victoria Regia (water lilies) that cover the lakes of the rainforest. Victoria Regia are found only in the Amazon region and have floating leaves up to 2 meters in diameter.

You will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and taken to the pier near the Tropical Manaus Hotel. From here, board your amphibious airplane and set out on a scenic flight to witness all the amazing beauty of the Amazon Rainforest. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on your flight.

Fly over the black Rio Negro and trace its path to the Meeting of the Waters region, where it joins the yellowish Solimoes River. You can clearly demarcate the darker and paler gradations of the rivers as they start uniting as one and form the mighty Amazon river. Continue over the dense Amazon Rainforest along the Amazonas River and fly over the Amazon lodge.

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the Tropical Hotel’s pier for a tour of Meeting of the Waters, the confluence of three mighty rivers. A multilingual guide will accompany you on this tour.

Cruise downstream on the Negro River along the left bank, passing the city of Manaus, the Manaus Floating Harbour, the Municipal Market and, finally, the spectacular sight of the Meeting of the Waters, where the Solimoes and Negro Rivers meet to form the mighty Amazonas River.
